Question #1 - Free Trial
We offer a 30 day free trial of any of our software packages. The demo consists of the entire full functioning live package. We need the serial number of your IBM i and Logical Partition number so that we can generate an activation code for you.
Question #2 - Support
Question #3 - Live Demo
We will be glad to assist you with a GoToMeeting if you would like. Just call or email to set up a time!
Question #4 - V7R1 Compliance
We have a number of customers already running on V7R1. We made all of our software compatible to V7R1 in mid 2008. So be sure that your version has been updated since that date. The last 6 digits of the version will show you the date in YYMMDD format.
Question #5 - Printer
KeyesMail, KeyesPDF, and KeyesArchive are all capable of printing PDFs directly from the IBM i to printers attached to your network. The printer must support 'Direct PDF Printing' in order to do this. Many printers have this capability, and any that do should work equally fine. We have used RICOH, BROTHER, and HP color printers to print our full color graphical invoices at our office.
How can I determine if printer model <insert name here> is capable of 'Direct PDF Printing'?
On the Internet, go to the manufacturer's website and locate that printer model. Display the Technical Specifications for that model. Look for an entry called 'Standard Printer Languages' or something similar. Printers capable of 'Direct PDF Printing' should list 'PDF (v1.3)' or later.
Question #6 - Excel
KeyesMail can automatically convert any Physical File member to a CSV file, for e-mailing. When the .CSV is double clicked on a PC, it should open right up in Excel. The CSV will have the Physical File's field descriptions used as column headings.
Customers often ask if they can convert a spooled file into a spreadsheet file. We feel that it is much easier and more versatile for the customer to place their raw data into a standard IBM Physical File, than to attempt to reverse engineer a spooled file to make it into a proper format for a spreadsheet. Unlike with spooled files, Physical Files are not limited by a page width or length.
Question #7 - Bar Codes
Yes, KeyesMail and KeyesPDF can convert IBM AFPDS spooled files into PDFs that include barcodes. We can also generate, print and/or e-mail barcodes using KeyesOverlay.
Question #8 - Duplex PDFs
Yes, both KeyesMail and KeyesPDF can generate a Duplex PDF document with the help of KeyesOverlay. KeyesOverlay will add the overlay for the Invoice. It will also add the Duplex image to the backside.
The PDF can be e-mailed and this will not negate the Duplex document. The recipient will be able to print it in a duplex manner - assuming their printer has this capability or as two pages if not.
KeyesFax can only send multiple pages - it cannot force a fax machine to print on the back side, so it does negate the duplex printing. But, you can still send an image to be included as the duplex part of the fax. You would just have to save the backside image as an Image and use a ¬Image command to include it with the fax.
